Omaggio a plutone

(Tribute to Pluto)
Year 1985

Four identical pyramids stacked of equipollent layers – symbolizing the four quarters of the world – surround a fifth, which represents the negative of the other. In the middle of the hollow form, which sinks as deeply into the earth as the others rise above it, a glass column rises up, illuminated from below, from plutos empire. The capital of the column reaches exactly the height of the pyramid peaks, thus marking the limit. On the capstone, however there is another layer – the column therefore becomes a monument to human greed.
